In line with its social mission, Hana Microfinance (HMF) has been actively participating in social projects in collaboration with its partners.
In March 2021, HMF participated in UNDP’s Cash for Work (CfW) Project in Gwa Township, Rakhine State in March 2021. In this project, HMF supported UNDP with the on-time disbursement and delivery of the weekly wages to the CfW beneficiaries who involved in road construction site at the respective area in Gwa Township.
In November 2021, HMF also participated in UNDP’s Cash Assistance Project. In this project, HMF supported with cash disbursement for UNDP to provide cash assistance to more than 3,300 households in Mon State which were badly affected by the flood in July 2021.
HMF is one of the Microfinance Institutions (MFI) which was selected by UNDP as a partner organization to work together in their social project activities. Even though HMF faced a lot of operational challenges due to the recent crisis, it continues to work together with other international organizations in order to fulfill its social commitment which is to support socio-economic development of low-income population.
HMF is contributing to the development of Myanmar by supporting in socio-economic development and capacity building for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) sectors, reaching out to underserved people in Myanmar and helping them generate income by providing capitals to start and expand their businesses, conducting knowledge sharing workshops on financial literacy in order to better manage their own money and investments, as well as to advance financial inclusion and reduce poverty in Myanmar.
