Hana Microfinance and Employees Donate Water to Communities in need

Hana Microfinance (HMF) and its dedicated employees have recently launched the “Empowering Lives, Hana’s Water Drive” program to support communities facing severe water shortages, with the company establishing a fund and employees also contributing to the donation efforts.

During May 2024, as part of this program, HMF staff distributed over 230,000 gallons of water to nearly 1800 households across 11 villages in Magway (Magway Division), Myittha, Nyaung Oo (Mandalay Division), and Bilin, Kyaikto (Mon State). The concerted effort ensured that vital water resources reached those in dire need. This initiative underscores the company’s commitment to social responsibility and community welfare.

Hana Microfinance extends heartfelt gratitude to all who contributed to this significant endeavor, particularly local organizations and our branch staff. This initiative not only highlights our corporate commitment but also reflects the generous spirit of our employees. We are proud to support the communities where our clients reside.

As a company deeply engaged in Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) practices, Hana Microfinance continually strives to make meaningful contributions to community welfare, disaster relief, and socio-economic development. These efforts are often carried out in collaboration with partner organizations to maximize impact.
