Due to the floods that occurred on September 13-14, 2024, various regions and states in Myanmar have been severely affected. In particular, some townships and villages in Shan State, Naypyidaw Union Territory, and Bago Region have faced significant damage and loss.
To provide relief in this time of hardship, Hana Microfinance, led by CEO U Min Min Zaw and Deputy COO U Thant Zin, personally visited the affected areas. The team provided over 600 million kyats in social welfare funds to over 20,000 clients, with each client receiving 30,000 kyats. The support reached not only Shan State but also clients in flood-affected areas of Naypyidaw’s Tatkon, Pyinmana, Lewe, and Bago’s Taungoo, Yedashe, Wundwin, and Yamethin Townships.
In addition to this, loan repayment deadlines have been postponed for those severely impacted by the floods, and Hana employees will not be collecting repayments during this period. Clients have been informed that they can make payments at branch offices or via digital wallets like KBZpay and Wave Pay if they wish.
Hana Microfinance is committed to assisting our clients in every possible way during this difficult time.
