On October 13, in honor of the International Day for Disaster Risk Reduction 2024, Hana Microfinance employees took action to help protect our communities and the environment.
During the BWF support distribution to the clients who were affected the floods and landslides in the Mandalay Region, Bago Region, Naypyidaw Council Area, and Shan State, they shared powerful stories about the impact of natural disasters and the role that tree planting can play in reducing risks. They highlighted real-life examples of how large trees helped save lives during the recent floods. These stories remind us that nature itself can be a strong ally in protecting against disasters.
Our employees encouraged everyone to participate in tree planting—a simple yet impactful way to strengthen our resilience.
They also explained the importance of financial preparedness, advising members to start saving, even in small amounts, to be ready for emergencies. Setting aside a little money can make a big difference when it comes to accessing medicines and essential supplies during crises.
“Plant a tree, Start saving, and Contribute to a safer, more resilient future for all.”
